This system helps to extract the oil without the use of heat, preserving the nutritional qualities of the sacha Inchi. The cold pressing machine exerts pressure on the seeds to release the oil. The process is slow to minimize heat generation, the harvested oil is a raw, unrefined product that retains its natural flavors, colors and nutritional properties. The extracted Sacha Inchi oil is filtered to remove impurities and particles and improve the clarity and purity of the oil.

Quality control measures are implemented to ensure that the Sacha Inchi oil meets specific purity standards and a high content of omegas 3 and 9. Once the oil is extracted and quality is verified in verified laboratories, it is packaged in soft capsules (500mg and 1000mg), glass bottles (250ml), or cylinders (20lt, 50lt, or 200lt) for export. Throughout the process, exposure to oxygen, which can contribute to oxidation and rancidity, is avoided.

Harvest time is crucial to ensure optimum quality and yield for the seeds (6 to 8 months after planting). Harvesting is done manually, giving work to the native communities involved. The seeds are spread out in the sun to dry in a well-ventilated area. Drying helps reduce moisture content, helps control the peroxide index and prevents the growth of mold or fungi.

Sacha Inchi is a native seed of the Peruvian Amazon jungle (Lamas, Tarapoto), which is sown and cultivated organically, without chemical products. This is a plant that requires a well-drained soil and tropical or subtropical climates. The water used in this crop comes from natural rainfall.

Sacha Inchi plants produce small star-shaped fruits with 4 and 5 points. The fruit takes a few weeks to ripen and the color changes from green to brown as the ripening process is completed.

Sacha Inchi is a seed native to the Peruvian Amazon. The local climate, environmental conditions, and soil contribute to the seeds’ nutrients, high content of unsaturated fatty acids such as OMEGA 3, tocopherols, and antioxidants. The absence of the natural conditions where the seed is indigenous means that seeds cultivated in other countries do not possess the same characteristics.

Omega 3 is the principal fatty acid from Sacha Inchi oil and other variations it’s where the main difference is more appreciated in compare to the asian oil.

Omega-3 consists of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential components of the membranes surrounding every cell in the body. DHA concentrations are particularly high in the retina (eye), the brain, and sperm. Omega-3s also provide calories to give the body energy and play numerous roles in the heart, blood vessels, lungs, immune system, and endocrine system (the network of hormone-producing glands).
The body does not produce omega-3 fatty acids on its own, so it is recommended to obtain them through diet.
